POZZATO AND FURLAN TOGETHER TO MAKE LITTLE CYCLISTS DREAM

On the occasion of Giro del Veneto, Serenissima Gravel and Veneto Classic, cycling lessons for children with the Bike Academy of former pro Angelo Furlan.

Even the little ones will be protagonists of Ride The Dreamland 2022. A fundamental component of the project conceived by Filippo Pozzato to bring great cycling back to Veneto is the involvement of children in recreational activities preparatory to cycling, sustainable mobility and health. For Pozzato, general manager of PP Sport Events, the resource to rely on was at hand, given that his friend, fellow countryman and former professional cyclist Angelo Furlan founded the AF360 Bike Academy precisely to address this type of training activity to children aged 5 and up.

We pedal for fun on the sidelines of the Giro del Veneto (October 12), Serenissima Gravel (October 14) and Veneto Classic (October 16).

The first appointment is therefore in Vicenza on October 12 from 11 to 17, in Piazza Castello. Twelve half-hour sessions are scheduled, in which up to eight boys and girls can participate: they will test themselves on two wheels (which will be provided, along with helmets, by the Bike Academy itself), in skill games and various routes. The same cycling school will be scheduled on October 14, again from 11 am to 5 pm, at the finish line of the Serenissima Gravel in Piazza Camerini in Piazzola sul Brenta, and on October 16 at the finish line of the Veneto Classic in Piazza Garibaldi in Bassano del Grappa. There will also be space for the very young, who will be able to try out the pedal-free bicycles. At the end of each session, the children will be invited to take part in first aid demonstrations dedicated to them, organized by MST Group: the fundamentals of first aid will be illustrated.

The aim of this initiative – explains Angelo Furlan, winner of two stages at the 2002 Vuelta, among other things – is to make children fall in love with cycling. To achieve this result, professionalism is put at the service of the youngest. It is no coincidence that the activities will take place near the arrival of the three competitions. The young cyclists will have the opportunity to breathe in the atmosphere of the race, experience the sounds and colors of the setup. Not only that, they will get to know the professionals up close, it will be a special moment”.

“Cycling must first and foremost be fun for our kids, who are increasingly busy with study and extracurricular commitments
– adds Furlan -. It should be proposed as a moment of escape, of freedom. Behind this movement there is a lot of training work by our technicians, all very well prepared. I will be present at the three days to be close to the little ones who want to have a new experience”.
